Job Description

Located in Lachine, Quebec - one of our clients is a large group, a distributor of consumer goods.

Reporting to the Senior Logistics Manager, Outbound - here are the responsibilities of the role:

• Manage and supervise the regional outbound logistics team;
• Manage daily in-store service operations with assigned carriers, as well as delivery areas, transit time, and communication with carriers for in-store service flow;
• Ensure that all in-store deliveries are made on time and manage the flow of pallets from terminals to stores;
• Manage seasonal planning of packed parcels for all seasons (delivery and pick-up) and coordinate plans for additional truck requirements;
• Ensure communication with shipping departments;
• Collaborate with internal departments (\'inbound\', network optimization) to implement best practices across the network, and ensure a good flow of information;
• Follow up and communicate with Regional District Managers (RDM) and District Managers on a daily and weekly basis;
• Assist in the management of road transport contracts, line transport contracts and external warehouse contracts (3PL), and assist in the negotiation of transport rates with suppliers
• Assist senior management in the preparation and analysis of calls for tenders as needed;
• Work with carriers to recommend and review optimal modes of transportation, routes, equipment, etc.;
• Ensure that transport companies comply with policies and procedures for the delivery of in-store services;
• Monitor transport costs and identify opportunities (with other departments) to reduce transport costs through the outgoing network;
• Establish and maintain process documentation and standard operating procedures for in-store service and outbound operational activities;
• Review and manage store accumulation and delivery requirements, and assess and coordinate changes as needed (pallet height, max pallets);
• Periodically review carrier KPIs for continuous performance improvement;
• Performs regional warehouse audits and packaging audits.
