Beyond the Bell is an after-school academic enrichment program that assists children with literacy and numeracy. Additionally, the program incorporates activities that foster optimal developmental growth and cultivate the YMCA's core values of; caring, respect, responsibility and honesty. Participants will engage in sport, outdoor play, science, and arts and crafts while improving social, numeric and literacy skills._*

Reporting directly to the Manager of Community Programs, the Out of School Care Supervisor is a key member of the Beyond the Bell department, who will:

  • Ensure all safety and supervision standards are being followed
  • Provide a nurturing, fun and safe environment for children
  • Create meal plans and purchase food within the programs budget
  • Set the weekly and monthly program plans and purchase supplies within the programs budget
  • Build healthy relationships with children, parents, teachers, school administration, and YMCA colleagues
  • Prepare high quality weekly program plans incorporating the Y values of Caring, Responsibility, Honesty, Respect and Inclusiveness
We'd love to hear with people with:
  • Must have current First Aid Certification
  • Certificate/diploma/degree in a related field
  • Minimum 2-3 years' experience working with children in a learning environment or in a childcare setting
  • Valid B.C. driver's license (Class 4 operator's license is considered an asset)
