The BOSC Manager oversees Out of School Care programming for Quadra families during the school year including: enrollment, supervision of staff, program planning & delivery, and administration of our sites at BGCA and Cecelia locations. Daily driving is required, delivering children to Quadra school from our two associated OSC sites. The manager also works with the OSC management team to deliver licensed day camps for children aged 5-11 during spring, summer & winter breaks. This position works on-site at the BGCA location.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop and maintain positive & effective relationships with families, staff, community partners and others accessing or impacted by our programs
Create a staffing schedule that maintains ratios and meets program needs, arranging for substitutes as needed
Ensure completion of annual professional development and encourage a learning environment for staff, attend conferences and workshops on appropriate topics and issues
Working with staff teams, ensure programming supports the social, emotional, cognitive and physical needs of the children in our care
Ensure the facility is maintained regularly, is clean and safe, that equipment is in good repair, and meets all relevant Child Care Licensing Regulations
Conduct and record regular team meetings
Ensure ongoing, accessible communication with families through email, phone, and in person
Maintain program waitlists, distribute registration packages, and ensure orientation of new families to the program, the facility and staff
With the support of the Department Manager, participate in the recruitment, hiring and evaluation of front-line program staff
Ensure that there is an effective method for the daily sharing of service delivery information
With the support of the Department Manager, review and update job descriptions as necessary
Report all accidents, injuries and illnesses to the Department Manager or delegate and record such incidents in the daily log book and inform Licensing as required.
Attend to registration to maximize revenues as required, monitor waitlists.
Maintain complete and accurate records per licensing requirements
Maintain confidentiality of all information related to the centre's children, their parents or guardians, and staff and ensure it is stored securely
Oversee program expenditures such as staffing, groceries and program supplies within a prescribed budget and provide information to the Department Manager regarding the budgetary needs of the program in a timely manner
Ensure timesheets and expenses are submitted to the Department Manager in a timely manner
Ensure parents and guardians are aware of all available subsidies and fee reduction initiatives
Attend regular Program Manager's meetings
Prepare month end expense, credit, registration reports as needed
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Class 4 License, or willingness to get one within a proscribed period of time
Post-secondary education in social work, education or childcare and relevant work experience.
Recent management experience in a childcare program
Standard First Aid and CPR C
Clean criminal record check
Other documentation as required by Community Care Facilities licensing requirements

Familiarity with common computer applications (Microsoft, Windows, Google, etc)
Effective time management strategies
Demonstrated teamwork, strong, positive leadership and supervisory skills
Ability to maintain a high degree of enthusiasm, imagination and personal motivation
Excellent interpersonal skills
Strong written and oral communication skills
Ability to lift up to 25 kg
HOURS OF WORK
35 hours/week, Monday to Friday, 10 am to 5.30 pm. Additional hours are available on school closure days and breaks. Occasional morning shift coverage may be required, 7.15 to 9 am

WAGE AND BENEFITS
Wage: starting at $25.86/hour.
