Job Summary

Cyient is hiring a

Field Technician with strong aerial telecommunications experience

to support Outside Plant (OSP) field data collection in Ontario. This role is ideal for candidates who have

hands-on experience working with aerial plant, utility poles, and overhead telecom infrastructure

.

You will travel to multiple job sites daily to collect, document, and validate field data related to

aerial telecom facilities

, supporting fiber design and engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities

Perform

OSP field surveys with a strong focus on aerial telecom infrastructure

Collect field data related to

utility poles, aerial cables, and overhead equipment

Take detailed

measurements, photos, sketches, and notes

of aerial and underground facilities Validate proposed fiber routes and identify field discrepancies Support Design Specialists by providing accurate aerial plant feedback and cable path recommendations Conduct right-of-way, utility, and permit research using GIS, Google Earth, and utility records Walk and work outdoors daily in varying weather conditions

Required Qualifications

1-2 years of hands-on experience with aerial telecom infrastructure

Direct experience working with

utility poles and overhead telecom facilities

Experience conducting

OSP field surveys

(aerial strongly preferred) Ability to read and interpret

utility work prints and telecom designs

Comfortable working outdoors and walking extended distances Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and reliable transportation

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with

MDU, Hicap, or BAU field surveys

Experience with

IKE or similar data collection equipment

Knowledge of underground and buried telecom infrastructure (in addition to aerial)

Travel Requirements

Up to

95% travel

, often for extended periods
