Job Title: OSP Inspector ( Northern Durham Region Area) The Inspector assists in all aspects of deployment of Outside Plant in assigned markets. Responsibilities include ensuring the integrity of the extensive FTTH fiber optic network by performing various duties including confirming facility placement, assisting in the establishment of schedules, coordination, monitoring of workflow, preparing reports and documents, maintaining project records, and interacting with landowners, permit agencies, as well as other company departments.
Perform regular inspections of fiber optic networks to confirm production numbers.
Ensure restoration is completed properly and satisfactorily.
Ensure correct depths of facilities and placement.
Record sequential numbers and confirm correct number of pedestals/handholes, among other things, are installed and in the desired locations.
Work on-site with crews daily (in varied weather conditions).
Resolve design and staking sheet issues in the field during construction and, when necessary, interpret company guidelines for specific applications.
Provide quality control to ensure adherence to construction/engineering standards/specifications.
Record concise field notes and be responsible for all fieldwork, staking sheets, permits, ROW, and the final drafting of the field notes when required.
Thoroughly document jobsite work, accurately updating collection maps of the location, completing the necessary documentation, and effectively photographing each job site.
Demonstrate a team focus, provide leadership, support, and adhere to sound business practices.
Document interactions, site information and utilities in organizational software.
Proactively identify and report problematic design/construction elements and formulate solutions.
Perform other duties as assigned.
35% - 50% travel required.

Knowledge of the OSP construction process
Class G Valid Driver\xe2\x80\x99s License required.
Must have physical strength, balance, hand-eye coordination, and stamina necessary to complete jobs in various areas.
Must be able to lift and carry up to 80 pounds and push and/or pull 50-pound loads at a time.
Must be able to stand and walk up to eight hours per day and climb multiple sets of stairs while carrying materials weighing between 40 and 60 pounds.
Must be able to ride in a vehicle up to four hours to travel to and from job sites.
Must be able to work in different temperatures and changing weather conditions.
Must be able to traverse and inspect all areas of jobsite in all types of weather; this may include walking, climbing, reaching, bending, crawling, or stretching.
Exposure to characteristic construction site dangers.
Must have flexibility in scheduling to meet the needs of the business.
