OSP Fiber Optic Technician Job Summary Seletech is seeking experienced Fiber Optic Splicers to join our team. Working out of our Calgary office, the successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, splicing and testing of fiber optic cables. We are seeking someone with time management, communication, and customer service skills. Team orientated as well as taking pride in all aspects of work an asset. Accountabilities \xc2\xb7 Ribbon and Loose Tube Fibre splicing. \xc2\xb7 Confidently build new FOSC\xe2\x80\x99s as well as enter existing facilities. \xc2\xb7 Capable of troubleshooting alignment issues and basic technical problems. \xc2\xb7 Ability to read and interpret maps, drawings, and blueprints. \xc2\xb7 Pull/Prepare/place underground cables in existing conduit systems. \xc2\xb7 Maintain company equipment in excellent condition. \xc2\xb7 Maintain records and support documentation on all work orders. \xc2\xb7 Adhere to all applicable health and safety regulations. \xc2\xb7 Microsoft Office knowledge \xe2\x80\x93 Able to use Excel, word etc.. \xc2\xb7 Must be Legally entitled to work in Canada. \xc2\xb7 Willingness to work overtime, weekends, or on emergency call outs as required \xc2\xb7 Job Types: Full-time Hourly $28.00-$38.00 Benefits after probationary period. Experience/Qualifications \xc2\xb7 Must have a valid Alberta Driver\xe2\x80\x99s license \xe2\x80\x93 with clean abstract \xc2\xb7 Bucket Truck knowledge and experience would be an asset. \xc2\xb7 Valid Standard First Aid Training. \xc2\xb7 Valid Aerial Lift and Fall Protection Training. \xc2\xb7 Valid Confined Space Training. \xc2\xb7 Previous experience in cable placing. \xc2\xb7 Excellent verbal and written communication skills. \xc2\xb7 Physically able to perform job aspects in all weather conditions. (Climb ladders, medium to heavy lifting).
