We at Ayos Design are seeking a highly motivated OSP Designer to join our growing team. In this role, you will play a vital role in designing and analyzing outside plant (OSP) facilities, ensuring they meet all safety and regulatory requirements. You\'ll be an integral part of the engineering team and will design networks using a variety of tools ensuring constructability issues are incorporated into the network designs. Areas of Expertise: \xe2\x97\x8f 2-4 years of experience in the utilities and telecommunications sector would be a valuable asset. \xe2\x97\x8f A post-secondary degree in Urban Planning, Civil Engineering, or a related field is considered a benefit. \xe2\x97\x8f A solid understanding of CAD software and other design applications used in the engineering field is essential. \xe2\x97\x8f Familiarity with customer database systems like NetX or ipairs is a plus. \xe2\x97\x8f Prior experience in surveying or using CAD software is highly regarded. \xe2\x97\x8f Proficiency in computer software, particularly MS Office Suite, is a must. \xe2\x97\x8f Possess exceptional written and verbal communication skills, allowing you to clearly convey technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences. \xe2\x97\x8f Proficiency in oganization and time management, adept at juggling multiple priorities and meeting deadlines consistently. \xe2\x97\x8f Self-motivated individual with a strong desire to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes. \xe2\x97\x8f Possess a working knowledge of construction and telecom documents, drawings, specifications, and current industry practices. Key Responsibilities: \xe2\x97\x8f Conduct comprehensive analyses of pole lines, utilizing software like SpidaCalc7, Quick Pole, and manual calculations to ensure structural integrity and compliance with industry standards. \xe2\x97\x8f Design and draft aerial drawings, meticulously considering conductor spacing, separation, clearance, and physical strength requirements. \xe2\x97\x8f Navigate the intricacies of underground infrastructure projects, working on various drawings such as MC permits, conservation authority permits, specialty permits, and internal/construction drawings. \xe2\x97\x8f Collaborate seamlessly with the QA/QC team, adhering to established review processes to guarantee the accuracy and completeness of final drawings. \xe2\x97\x8f Leverage your expertise in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) to effectively communicate project details and collaborate with colleagues. \xe2\x97\x8f Attend customer meetings and perform site surveys or walk-outs as necessary to comply with customer requirements. \xe2\x97\x8f Additional duties as required If you are a team player who thrives in a collaborative environment or you are able to effectively liaise with clients to address any concerns and ensure project satisfaction.
