We at Ayos Design are seeking a highly motivated OSP Designer to join our growing team. In this role, you will play a vital role in designing and analyzing outside plant (OSP) facilities, ensuring they meet all safety and regulatory requirements. You\'ll be an integral part of the engineering team and will design networks using a variety of tools ensuring constructability issues are incorporated into the network designs.Areas of Expertise: 2-4 years of experience in the utilities and telecommunications sector would be avaluable asset. A post-secondary degree in Urban Planning, Civil Engineering, or a related field isconsidered a benefit. A solid understanding of CAD software and other design applications used in theengineering field is essential. Familiarity with customer database systems like NetX or ipairs is a plus. Prior experience in surveying or using CAD software is highly regarded. Proficiency in computer software, particularly MS Office Suite, is a must. Possess exceptional written and verbal communication skills, allowing you to clearlyconvey technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences. Proficiency in oganization and time management, adept at juggling multiple priorities andmeeting deadlines consistently. Self-motivated individual with a strong desire to learn and adapt to new technologies andprocesses. Possess a working knowledge of construction and telecom documents, drawings,specifications, and current industry practices.Key Responsibilities: Conduct comprehensive analyses of pole lines, utilizing software like SpidaCalc7, QuickPole, and manual calculations to ensure structural integrity and compliance with industrystandards. Design and draft aerial drawings, meticulously considering conductor spacing,separation, clearance, and physical strength requirements. Navigate the intricacies of underground infrastructure projects, working on variousdrawings such as MC permits, conservation authority permits, specialty permits, andinternal/construction drawings. Collaborate seamlessly with the QA/QC team, adhering to established review processesto guarantee the accuracy and completeness of final drawings. Leverage your expertise in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) toeffectively communicate project details and collaborate with colleagues. Attend customer meetings and perform site surveys or walk-outs as necessary to complywith customer requirements.
