We're united by a shared commitment to excellent and equitable health care.Position OverviewWorking primarily in Ambulatory Clinic, the Orthopaedic Technologist under the direction of a physician, provides care to children and adults through the application, adjustment and removal of casts and splints. The individual will function effectively as a member of a team and work within MHC's core values, philosophy, vision, quality goals, policies and procedures.Experience

  • Experience working in a healthcare setting with adult and paediatric orthopaedic conditions is preferred.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
  • Complete high school education, Manitoba standards required.
  • Post-secondary education preferred.
  • Registered with the Canadian Society of Orthopaedic Technologists or the American Society of Orthopedic Professionals is required and maintains registration on an annual basis.
  • Must be a registered Orthopaedic Technologist.
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) training requirements for this position shall be in accordance with the Employer policy.
Certification/Licensure/Registration
  • Must be a registered Orthopedic Technologist.
  • Registered with the Canadian Society of Orthopedic Technologists required and maintains registration on an annual basis.

Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to sit, stand or walk for extended periods of time without resting.
  • Must demonstrate the use of safe and effective body mechanics while working with clients.
  • Must be able to safely transfer clients who may have limited or no weight bearing capabilities.
  • Must demonstrate adequate motor coordination or dexterity, strength and endurance to perform the complete spectrum of job functions.
  • May be required to occasionally work extended hours.
  • May be exposed to dust, grease, oil, infectious diseases, blood and body fluids, toxic materials, noise, allergens, physical and emotional stress.
This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment. The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred.
