POSITION OVERVIEW

Islandwide Distributors is seeking a reliable, detail-oriented

Order Picker

to assist our warehouse team for the remainder of our busy season, July to December. You'll play a crucial part in fulfilling customer orders accurately and on time, helping us maintain our reputation for excellent service.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Order Picking & Packing

Retrieve products from warehouse shelving based on pick lists Bag, box, or parcel items securely for shipment or delivery

Material Handling

Operate pallet jacks and forklifts (certification an asset) to move products safely Handle and stage incoming shipments as directed

Quality & Accuracy

Verify item numbers, quantities, and condition before packing Report discrepancies or damaged goods immediately

Warehouse Maintenance

Maintain a clean, organized work area and assist with stock rotation Support cycle counts and inventory audits as needed

QUALITIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

Education

Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent

Experience

Minimum 1 year of warehouse or distribution experience (order picking preferred)

Skills & Abilities

Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy Ability to work steadily in a fast-paced environment Basic numeracy for counting and inventory tasks

Personal Suitability

Reliable, punctual, and a strong team player Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORK CONDITIONS

Environment

Standard warehouse (no perishable/cold storage)

Physical Demands

Standing, bending, crouching, and kneeling for extended periods Repetitive tasks with up to 23 kg (50 lbs) weight handling

Tools & Equipment

Required:

Steel-toed safety boots

Training:

Forklift and pallet jack training provided if not already certified

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

Wage:

$16.00-$17.00 per hour, based on experience

Hours:

40 hours per week Monday through Friday, some overtime may be required. Contract length is 4-6 months.
