Position: Registered Oral Surgery Dental Assistant

As an integral part of our surgical team, you'll assist in a variety of oral surgery procedures, provide pre- and post-operative care, and ensure a safe, sterile, and welcoming environment for our patients.

Responsibilities:

Assist oral surgeon during procedures, including extractions, implants, sedation and general anesthetic cases Prepare and sterilize instruments and surgical rooms Take and process digital radiographs Provide clear pre-operative and post - operative instructions to patients and caregivers Maintain accurate patient records and documentation Ensure compliance with OSHA and infection control protocols Maintain inventory, order supplies, restock and maintain operatories, consult rooms and recovery area. Coordinate booking of patients with admin staff and implant coordinator

Applicants must a Registered Dental Assistant and hold a current license to practice in NS.

Qualifications:

Completion of a Dental Assisting Program accredited in Nova Scotia (or equivalent). Current Dental Assistant licensure with the Nova Scotia Dental Assistants Association (NSDAA). Knowledge of OSHA standards, infection control, and sterilization protocols. Experience assisting with oral surgery, implants, or sedation/general anesthetic cases preferred (willing to train the right candidate). Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage instruments, supplies, and patient records efficiently. Excellent communication and patient-care skills--ability to explain procedures and post-op care clearly and compassionately. Ability to work well in a fast-paced surgical environment and as part of a collaborative team. High attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a safe, sterile, and professional environment. Experience in oral surgery preferred.

Pay: $27.00-$28.00 per hour

Expected hours: 45 per week
