Position Summary:



We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate

Oral Surgeon

to join our team. As a Surgeon, you will be responsible for providing high-quality dental care, performing Wisdom tooth extractions, Dental implants, Bone grafting, Oral pathology & biopsy procedures. You will work in a dynamic team environment, maintaining patient records, performing dental procedures, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities:



Clinical Responsibilities:



Perform surgical procedures including: Wisdom tooth extractions (including impacted third molars) Dental implant placement and related bone grafting Pre-prosthetic surgeries Soft and hard tissue biopsies Frenectomies, apicoectomies, and oral pathology treatments Diagnose and manage oral diseases, injuries, and defects of the hard and soft tissues of the mouth, jaws, face, and neck. Administer local anesthesia and, where licensed, conscious sedation or general anesthesia in accordance with RCDSO regulations. Develop and present comprehensive surgical treatment plans to patients, including benefits, risks, and post-operative care. Ensure proper patient monitoring during and after procedures. Manage post-operative complications and follow-up care. Collaborate with general dentists and specialists to coordinate patient care.

Administrative & Compliance Duties:



Maintain accurate, thorough, and timely clinical documentation in patient records (paper or digital). Ensure compliance with RCDSO standards, infection control protocols, and the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA). Participate in case discussions, peer consultations, and continuing education programs as required. Supervise and provide directions to dental assistants or surgical staff during procedures. Ensure surgical instruments and operatory areas are properly sterilized and maintained.

Patient-Centered Responsibilities:



Provide a calm, reassuring presence to patients undergoing complex or invasive procedures. Educate patients and their families about surgical procedures, recovery expectations, and oral hygiene post-surgery. Address patient concerns or emergencies in a timely and professional manner. Uphold a high standard of patient confidentiality and care ethics.

Team Collaboration & Leadership:



Actively contributes to a respectful, cooperative, and supportive team environment. Share expertise and provide mentorship to junior staff or newly hired clinical team members as appropriate. Participate in clinic meetings, training, or events as requested by management.

Qualifications:

Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from an accredited dental school A minimum of 3 years' experience practicing dentistry by following federal and provincial legal regulations Valid dental license in good standing Proficiency in using dental software such as Dentrix, AkituOne Knowledge of CAD/CAM technology for restorative dentistry is a plus Experience in pediatric dentistry is preferred

Working Conditions:



Work Schedule: The regular work week will be the hours clinic is open. However, it may change, depending on the business needs. Weekends and Evenings availability is required. Work Environment: Primarily office-based in a clinical dental practice setting. Will be required to interact with patients in a professional and caring manner. Physical Requirements: The position requires sitting for extended periods, light lifting, and the ability to move between workstations as necessary.
