Position Summary

:


The Operating Room Registered Practical Nurse (OR RPN) performs and serves in a professional and collaborative environment, where the OR nursing team is interactive, supportive and committed to excellence and quality patient care. The OR RPN will be required to participate in an on-call schedule including weekdays, weekends and stat holidays.


The OR RPN must be able to respond to call-ins within 30 minutes

Position Requirements:



Graduate of a Practical Nursing Program and currently registered, in good standing, with the College of Nurses of Ontario

Successful completion of a recognized OR Certificate course from an approved teaching institution

Current Basic Cardiac Life Support Certificate (BCLS)

Demonstrated competent nursing skills including recent experience as an OR-Scrub technician in a variety of surgical specialties

Proficient computer knowledge

Proven ability to function as part of an interdisciplinary team

Established collaboration and communication skills with patients and health professionals

Effective written and verbal communication skills

Demonstrated ability to meet the physical and safety requirements of the position; Ability to attend work regularly, demonstrated by an acceptable attendance record
