We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Optometry Technician to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in providing exceptional patient care and support within our optometry practice. You will assist the optometrist in various clinical and administrative tasks, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow while delivering a positive experience for our patients.
Responsibilities
Assist the optometrist during eye examinations by preparing patients and conducting preliminary tests.
Maintain accurate electronic medical records (EMR) and ensure all patient information is up-to-date.
Provide exceptional patient care by addressing inquiries and guiding patients through their appointments.
Manage front desk duties, including scheduling appointments, checking in patients, and handling insurance verifications.
Educate patients on proper eye care practices and assist with optical sales, including frame selection and lens options.
Utilize medical terminology effectively to communicate with both patients and healthcare professionals.
Support pediatric patients with a friendly approach to ensure comfort during their visits.
Collaborate with team members to maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Skills
Previous medical office experience is preferred to ensure familiarity with clinical operations.
Proficiency in electronic medical records systems; experience with Epic is a plus.
Strong patient care skills, demonstrating empathy and professionalism in all interactions.
Experience in front desk operations within a healthcare setting is beneficial.
Knowledge of optical products and services, along with retail sales experience, enhances customer engagement.
Familiarity with medical terminology relevant to optometry practices is essential.
Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment while managing multiple tasks efficiently.
