We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Optometrist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive eye care services, including examinations, diagnosis, and treatment of various eye conditions. This role requires a strong commitment to patient care and the ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team. Experience with pediatric and senior care is a plus, as well as familiarity with optical sales and medical terminology.
Responsibilities
Conduct thorough eye examinations to assess visual acuity and diagnose eye diseases.
Prescribe corrective lenses and other treatments based on patient needs.
Provide patient education on eye health, corrective lenses, and preventive care.
Maintain accurate patient records using electronic health record systems such as Epic.
Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
Stay updated on advancements in optometry practices and technologies.
Assist in optical sales by recommending appropriate eyewear options based on patient prescriptions.
Manage patient follow-ups to monitor treatment effectiveness and adjust as necessary.
Qualifications
Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited institution.
Valid state optometry license.
Strong knowledge of medical terminology related to eye care.
Experience in pediatrics or senior care is highly desirable.
Excellent communication skills with a focus on patient interaction and education.
Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
Familiarity with optical products and sales techniques is a plus.
