We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Optician to join Specsavers team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in optical services and retail sales, with a commitment to providing exceptional customer service. As an Optician, you will play a vital role in assisting patients with their eyewear needs, ensuring they receive the best possible care and products tailored to their vision requirements.

What we're looking for
You will need to be a licensed/registered optician holding a valid Dispensing Optician and/or Contact Lens Fitter License in your province. Beyond your experience, you're passionate about eye care and are committed to exceptional customer experience and patient care.

Responsibilities



Assist customers in selecting eyewear that suits their style and prescription needs. Provide expert advice on lens options, coatings, and frame styles to enhance customer satisfaction. Perform fittings and adjustments of eyewear to ensure proper fit and comfort. Maintain accurate records of customer prescriptions and orders using optical software systems such as Epic. Collaborate with laboratory technicians to ensure timely production of eyewear. Educate customers on proper eyewear care and maintenance. Manage inventory levels of frames and lenses, ensuring the display is well-stocked and organized. Support retail sales efforts by promoting special offers and new products to customers.

Experience



Previous experience in an optical setting is preferred, with a strong understanding of medical terminology related to eye care. Laboratory experience is a plus, particularly in lens fabrication or adjustments. Proven retail sales experience with a focus on customer service excellence. Familiarity with retail management practices is advantageous for optimizing store operations. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with customers and team members. Pay: $28.00-$31.00 per hour

Expected hours: 25 - 40 per week
