Department Overview Motorola Solution's Video Division, designs, develops, and manufactures advanced AI, video analytics, network video management software and hardware, surveillance cameras, and access control solutions that help change the way people interact with their security systems.

The Device Validation Team is performing HW testing on new designs to confirm they meet specifications. In addition the team is also responsible for camera image quality tuning and lens selection/evaluation.



Responsibilities include:

  • Perform image quality tests on new and existing lenses and cameras
  • Reproduce and investigate failures; create test reports
  • Analyze and troubleshoot lens alignment, optical sub-assemblies, and final camera performance
  • Assist with calibration and automation of factory test setups
Qualifications:
  • Degree in Optics, Applied Physics/Engineering Physics, Electromechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or another Engineering discipline
  • Hands-on experience aligning and testing optical systems including lenses and image sensors.
  • Able to perform failure investigations, root cause analysis and create test reports
  • Self-starter, capable of working with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment
  • Detail oriented and well organized, good communicator, able to multitask
  • Experienced user of MS Office applications such as PowerPoint and Excel
Preference given to candidates with the following skills and experience:
  • 2+ year experience in manufacturing/high tech industry
  • Skilled in Electronic circuit and mechanical assembly troubleshooting
  • Knowledge of basic networking
  • Prior experience with test automation using Matlab/Python
  • Experience with optical software including Code V/Zemax, LightTools/TracePro, and Imatest
  • Experience (installation, use or manufacturing) with CCTV products or photography/videography equipment
  • Experience with subjective/objective image quality metrics and test protocols
