Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Optical Dispenser to join our team in providing exceptional eye care services. The ideal candidate will assist patients in selecting and fitting eyewear, ensuring a comfortable and accurate experience. This role requires a strong understanding of optical products, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare environment. Prior experience with optical equipment and retail sales is highly valued, along with familiarity with medical terminology and laboratory procedures.

Duties

Assist patients in selecting appropriate eyewear based on prescriptions and personal preferences Measure and fit eyeglasses and contact lenses accurately, ensuring optimal comfort and vision correction Educate patients on lens options, frame styles, and proper eyewear maintenance Process prescriptions using optical software such as Epic or similar systems Maintain detailed records of patient interactions, prescriptions, and sales transactions Manage inventory of optical supplies and ensure proper stock levels Provide exceptional customer service by addressing patient questions and concerns professionally Collaborate with optometrists and other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive eye care services Support retail sales efforts by promoting eyewear products and accessories

Experience

Prior experience in optical dispensing or related laboratory work is preferred Knowledge of medical terminology related to eye care is advantageous Experience with retail sales, especially in optical or healthcare settings, is beneficial Familiarity with optical systems such as Epic or similar electronic health records platforms is a plus Background in retail management or supervisory roles can be an asset Previous exposure to laboratory procedures involving lenses or frames enhances suitability for the role
Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00-$35.00 per hour
