QUALIFICATIONS

Certification/Experience/Knowledge:

Graduate of a recognized Physiotherapy Assistant and/or Occupational Therapy Assistant program required Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Health Care Providers (HCP) required (recent within the last twelve months) Current Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) Certificate required (training delivered by Health Centre upon hire) GPA certification an asset DementiAbility certification an asset Experience in Dementia care and de-escalation techniques an asset

Skills/Abilities

Physical capability and/or able to employ innovative strategies to handle physically impaired patients required Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required Minimum 2 years recent (within the last 2-3 yrs.) experience in an acute care hospital setting is required Experience in an out-patient setting an asset Demonstrated computer skills/knowledge required Able to organize daily activities efficiently and effectively Able to be flexible, resourceful and adaptable Able to work independently and under supervision Good attendance and work record required Must be available for scheduled shifts and call-ins Must demonstrate commitment to ensure your safety, the safety of fellow workers, patients, volunteers, and visitors Must support and contribute to a culture of safety and prevention of adverse health events in this organization
Bilingualism (Advanced level English/French) is required.
