Red Rock Ophthalmology is looking for a full-time Certified Ophthalmic Assistant/Technician to join our team. We are seeking an energetic, positive, reliable, team player to assist in patient care. The successful applicant will provide high quality ophthalmic evaluations and diagnostic testing.

Responsibilities:

Professional presentation and conduct with respect for confidentiality Patient work ups: medical history, vision, pupil assessment, lensometry, refractometry, stereo and colour vision, auto-refraction, tonometry and administering ophthalmic drops as required Accurately document all patient clinical findings and communications in electronic medical records Perform as needed: HVF, OCT, IOL Master, Tonopen, Icare, AT, PAM, BAT, Pachymetry Maintain and clean equipment and exam rooms used throughout the day Schedule patient appointments with EMR system according to guidelines Complete duties related to scheduling cataract surgery Answer phones, take messages, provide test results to patients Assist with triage of new referrals May assist with training of other non-certified ophthalmic assistants Patient billing submission and reconciliation Other duties or clerical functions as assigned
Skills:

Strong attention to detail and follow-through Excellent time management, proficient written/verbal communication Positive attitude with focus on high quality patient care Ability to work independently and thrive in fast paced environment Excellent interpersonal, problem-solving, and teamwork skills Ability to prioritize, open to change, and adaptable
Qualifications:

JCAHPO-certified COA, COT preferred 5 years experience an asset Computer proficiency and experience with electronic medical records Ability to work efficiently with adults and children of all ages
Pay rate commensurate with skill set and experience.
