Ophthalmic Technician

We are looking for a part time Ophthalmic Technician for our office in West Edmonton which services Edmonton and surrounding areas. We are a busy practice of one ophthalmologist. Our ideal candidate is eager to learn new skills and share our values of exceptional patient care. Candidates must be available to work Monday, Tuesdays and Thursdays to be considered for the position.

Qualifications:

Experience/Education in the ophthalmic field (Required)

Work experience in a medical office setting (Required)

Excellent oral and written communication skills in English is essential

Computer skills, experience with using EMR System Accuro (Preferred)

Detail-oriented and have the ability to work well with a team, as well as independently.

Willingness to learn new technology

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Screening patients: taking history, visual acuity and tonometry.

Performing various preliminary diagnostic testing: OCT, IOL Master, Visual Fields

Cleaning

Update electronic records and perform other routine clerical tasks as assigned

Maintain a friendly and professional appearance and conduct

Maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and the general public.

Able to work in a fast-paced environment

Pay: $20.00-$24.00 per hour
