Job Description
Ophthalmic Technician
We are looking for a Full time (32-44hrs) Ophthalmic Technician for our office in West Edmonton which services Edmonton and surrounding areas. We are a busy practice of one ophthalmologist. Our ideal candidate is eager to learn new skills and share our values of exceptional patient care. Candidates must be available to work Monday- Friday to be considered for the position.
Qualifications:
Experience/Education in the ophthalmic field (Required)
Work experience in a medical office setting (Required)
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Computer skills, experience with using EMR System Accuro (Preferred)
Detail-oriented and have the ability to work well with a team, as well as independently.
Willingness to learn new technology
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Screening patients: taking history, visual acuity and tonometry.
Performing various preliminary diagnostic testing: OCT, IOL Master, Visual Fields
Cleaning
Update electronic records and perform other routine clerical tasks as assigned
Maintain a friendly and professional appearance and conduct
Maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and the general public.
Able to work fast-paced environment
