- Supervise the work of third-party service/repair contractors during shift,
- Conduct janitorial, maintenance activities,
- Conduct exterior snow clearing,
- Conduct regular maintenance on mechanical systems (refrigeration plant), and equipment/machinery (cleaning equipment, Zamboni, etc.),
- Ensure the reliable functioning of Arena fixtures (score board, sound system, bleacher heaters, etc.),
- Clean the ice surface as required.

SPECIFIC QUALITIES & COMPETENCIES

- Routine inspection of essential Public Works facilities including the water pumphouse, lift stations, and lagoon,

- Pumping out retention pond,
- Conducting flood-water management,
- Conducting preventative maintenance on vehicles, equipment, machinery and tools,
- Conducting snow removal and clearing of public roadways,
- Repairing and maintaining paved roads and gravel roads (grading),
- Conducting street sweeping and road surface repairs (crack and pothole filling),
- Conducting green-space care and maintenance (mowing parks, boulevards, ditches, ball diamonds, trimming trees and bushes, tree removal, controlling weeds, etc.),
- Maintaining tidiness of public areas (waste and recycling, pickup and disposal),
- Maintenance of Town buildings and installations (fence maintenance, painting of buildings, curbs and walkways),
- Installing, replacing and repairing roadway signs,
- Installing and removing street decorations,
- Emergency thawing of private/public service connections,
- Emergency sewer cleanout for private residences.
