Position: Operations Support Engineer Location: Mount Pearl, Newfoundland SLB is leading the way in the oilfield services industry. We are an integral part of the expanding oil and gas business in Atlantic Canada through offices in Mount Pearl, Newfoundland. We\'re seeking an enthusiastic individual who wishes to join our Newfoundland team and contribute to our success. The Operations Support Engineer is responsible for assisting in providing innovative and cost-effective solutions to customers with a specific focus on Surface Tree & Wellhead maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, design, and modification. The Engineer shall also assist in planning, conducting, and evaluating approaches to meeting project objectives in a timely fashion. To assist in establishing a reputation with key customers for providing consistently high standards of service and technical engineering solutions. To ensure that all mechanical engineering work carried out meets the requirements of the company policies & Quality System. From St. John\'s, Newfoundland, Canada, join a small but experienced team supporting surface wellhead project operations offshore Newfoundland as well as in the Gulf of Mexico, Trinidad, and Alaska. In your position with SLB, you will be responsible for:

  • Develop extensive knowledge on Cameron Tree & Wellhead products and provide technical support to all business functions.
  • Be a technical point of contact for on-going Field (on-call) and inhouse Service Operations.
  • Provide technical assistance to external clients on troubleshooting activities, using sound engineering judgement, to enable high service quality.
  • Provide project management for specific service operations, design & manufacture/modifications of Cameron products to ensure financial and quality parameters are met.
  • Research and Design of bespoke Engineering solutions to suit Client needs using Engineering principles.
  • Produce bill of materials and necessary drawings and/or clear work instructions as required.
  • Ensure that Quality Policies and Procedures are adhered to for all field and workshop operations.
  • Produce clear and detailed reports for submission to customers. Liaise with customers on both technical and general business requirements where appropriate.
  • Build close relationships between Engineering & Production by maintaining strong communication with all relevant personnel.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of SLB and client information.
  • Follow and uphold all SLB Quality and Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Standards and promote their respect, understanding and adherence.
You will have a minimum of:
  • 5 - 10 years of degreed Engineering experience, oil and gas EPC and/or manufacturing environment would be an asset
  • Positive attitude towards technical writing and design in a fast paced work environment
  • Degree in an Engineering discipline required, preferably Mechanical Engineering
  • Excellent computer skills with proficiency in the use of Design applications
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
  • Excellent written and analytical skills
Preferred Licenses / Certifications
  • Oil & Gas experience in mechanical design / repair.
  • Good knowledge of Flow Control Products (Tree/Wellhead/Valves) or similar.
  • Knowledge & Experience utilizing Autodesk products: AutoCAD & Inventor
  • Knowledge & Experience utilizing SAP interface system.
