The Operations Supervisor will be responsible for developing a thorough understanding of the Company's transportation requirements and patterns. They will review and process day to day operations that are required by the location.

What You'll Do:



Providing direct supervision of all drivers, ensuring ongoing training requirements, discipline and procedural implementation Working alongside the Operations Manager and the Recruiting Team to maintain adequate staffing levels, including participating in interviews and pre-employment Road Tests Working alongside the Dispatcher daily to ensure routes are completed efficiently and accurately Conducting ongoing observational behaviour assessments/driver training to uncover any performance issues, and creating an action plan to correct Tracking ongoing service/driver issues and documenting any discipline required Attaining all the necessary information regarding any issues by maintaining courteous, prompt and efficient customer relations. Organizing and approving payroll and driver vacation requests Ensuring a healthy and safe working environment for all workers, and reporting any related issues immediately to the Operations Manager Ensuring company policy, systems, and industry related training is delivered to all drivers as needed Performing Accident Investigations when company vehicles are involved in traffic accidents or incidents Other duties as assigned

What We're Looking For:



2+ years of supervisory experience, ideally with a large team Preference will be given to those candidates with experience working with Residential or Commercial collection, transportation, and/or Operations. General understanding of, WHMIS and the Highway Traffic Act. Proficiency with performing pre- and post-trip inspections, as well as accident investigations Strong communication and interpersonal skills Capability to plan, prioritize and execute against tight timelines. Intermediate database, spreadsheet, and word processing skills within a Microsoft environment Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, instruction and procedure manuals, routing reports and correspondence. Willing to work flexible hours.
