Imperial Dade Canada, leading national distributor, has a job open in Vancouver. The Operations Supervisor is responsible for supervising picking/receiving and some afternoon shipping activities while respecting set budgets and keeping interruptions in customer service to a minimum. To manage warehouse employees while maintaining a good working environment and promoting occupational health and safety.

This position has a salary range of $65,000.00$ to $75,000.00.

Responsibilities:

Provide leadership, mentorship and supervision to all warehouse and transportation employees. Promote a culture of safety at every opportunity with employees. Ensure safety procedures are being followed strictly and that work is performed in a safe and efficient manner. Supervise the daily work flow in the areas of order filling, picking, receiving, truck loading, routing, and the delivery process. Identify process improvements, increase efficiency and productivity to achieve budget targets and operational metrics. Work collaboratively with other departments to ensure effective internal and external customer service. Ensure standard productivity and error standards are consistently met. Provide orientation and ongoing training. Assess manpower requirements necessary to maintain established service levels.

Qualifications

Superior communication and interpersonal skills. Strong IT skills utilizing tools including a laptop, RF Scanners, Microsoft packages and WMS Software. Personal strengths include exceptional leadership and interpersonal communication abilities, self-motivation and problem-solving skills. Knowledge of and experience in general warehouse practices and procedures related to the order filling and delivery functions (WMS, Routing, etc.). Post secondary education in operational management preferred or equivalent experience. 3+ years of supervisory experience in a unionized environment within a warehouse operations setting. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work extended hours, which may be required from time to time or to provide coverage occasionally for our nightshift.

Working/Other Conditions:

Shift hours are from 1:00pm to 9:30pm, Monday to Friday. Working onsite in a dry climate-controlled warehouse environment. Required to wear personal protective equipment - company supplied. Minimal to moderate exposure to hazardous conditions, noise, and vibrations conducive to a warehouse environment. On occasion, prolonged periods of sitting, computer use, and phone use.
