The Opportunity:

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Operations Superintendent is accountable for activities of the multi-disciplined Field Operations team in the Primrose Wolf Lake area.

You will interact and work together with numerous people and groups across the company including Calgary based Production Engineering, Human Resources, Supply Management, Marketing, Joint Ventures and Information Systems. Externally, you will interface with local municipal governments, regulators, as well as stakeholders, such as landowners, service providers (contract companies) and Indigenous communities.

This role requires you to locate to the Bonnyville or Cold Lake area.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Safety - Accountable for ensuring all direct reports understand & deliver on Supervisor & Worker responsibility outlined in Safety Management System (SMS), ERP\xe2\x80\x99s, as well as provincial & federal government regulations. Responsible for developing facts & data based leading/lagging Occupational & Technical Safety KPI\xe2\x80\x99s & Improvement plans relevant to the area of responsibility
  • Operational and Technical - Accountable to measure & deliver sand face to sales economic production reliability of 97%. Accountable to measure & deliver on co-owned volume budget in all product lines
  • Financial and Cost Management - Accountable to own, develop & deliver on annual Operating Cost, Turnaround and Work Over budget. Responsible for understanding, monitoring and improving cost trends for Operating, Turnaround and Workovers
  • Strategic Management - Responsible to identify & lead key improvement initiatives focusing on work culture, operability, risk mitigation. Contribute to creating mid & longer term asset development plans owned by the Calgary team
  • Personal and Team Leadership - Responsible for personal & team development by providing effective performance coaching & career development plans. Liable for identifying training & education requirements & working with HR and other groups to facilitate

  • Job location: Bonnyville or Cold Lake, Alberta
  • Shift schedule: 5x2 - Monday to Friday, 8 hours per day
  • Eligible to relocate to the local area pursuant to Canadian Natural\xe2\x80\x99s Relocation Regular Policy

Skills & Qualifications:
  • 15 years of industry experience with minimum of 10 years in Production Foreman, Maintenance Foreman, or Lead /Engineering Technical roles with technical degree, diploma or relevant certification
  • Power Engineering or Technical certification would be an asset
  • Demonstrates strong commitment to safety & environmental principles & practices
  • Broad knowledge & uses this knowledge to assist facilities & operational teams
  • Possesses knowledge in economics, financial reporting, controls & ethical practices
  • High proficiency in databases, software\xe2\x80\x99s and strong data analysis skills
  • Minimum of Yellow belt LSS and ability, desire to progress to Green belt within 2 years
