Grey Era Inc. is a Toronto-based operations and technology firm enabling early-stage deployment of
software-defined vehicle (SDV)
programs across North America. Our work focuses on field testing and operational execution -- helping Tier 1 suppliers, AV developers, and mobility tech firms launch road-based testing campaigns across Ontario, Quebec, Alberta, and select U.S. states.
We're at the early stage of building our company -- and this role is designed for someone who wants to contribute directly to startup formation, not just observe it.
The Opportunity
We're hiring a
co-op Operations & Research Assistant
to work directly with the founder. You'll support day-to-day execution, grant applications, planning documents, and research on test operations, data workflows, and partner targeting.
This is an opportunity to see what it takes to go from concept to execution in mobility and automotive tech -- especially during the formative months of a pre-seed startup.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct research on competitors, partners, regions, and operational benchmarks in SDV testing
Draft internal strategy docs, funding applications, pitch materials, and process flows
Help track project budgets, hiring needs, and cross-border deployment logistics
Coordinate documentation related to test campaign design and technical reporting workflows
Assist with scheduling, meeting preparation, and partner communications
What We're Looking For
Currently enrolled in a Canadian post-secondary co-op program (Business, Engineering, Public Policy, or a related field)
Excellent written communication and structured thinking
Detail-oriented and comfortable organizing files, documents, and planning workflows
Independent, proactive, and able to manage your own time
Proficient with Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides
Nice-to-Haves (Not Required)
Familiarity with SDV/ADAS, mobility, or tech infrastructure
Experience using CRM tools
Interest in early-stage startups and operational planning
Location
Remote-first, with preference for candidates in or near Toronto.
Hours & Compensation
~35 hours/week
~$20/hour (flexible based on experience and grant eligibility)
4-month term, eligible for co-op grant support (we'll help with documentation)
Equity & Inclusion
Grey Era welcomes applicants of all backgrounds and especially encourages individuals from underrepresented communities to apply, including women in STEM, Indigenous students, newcomers, and persons with disabilities.
