About this role:





As a Retail Investment Operations Specialist, you will ensure the success of Meridian by handling complex operational tasks including Class A Shares, tax reporting to CRA, FATCA/CRS reporting and management and act as registered plan subject matter expert to solve complex errors and escalations - serving as a central point of contact. You will maintain high standards of accuracy, quality, and efficiency, and act as a trusted partner to build and maintain internal relationships. Your proactive nature and collaborative attitude will help align efforts to achieve Meridian's MFG strategy.




Key Responsibilities








1. Member/Partner Experience




Execute on Class A Share Products such as: + Redemption, Purchases, Transfers + Beneficiary and investment instruction updates
+ Maintain Waitlist
+ Prepare, maintain, and submit Board Reports and Available Shares List
+ Process dividend payments
+ Reconcile GLs
Execute Year End Functions such as: + prepare, produce and mail year end receipts to Members + File all receipts with CRA within mandated timelines for various accounts (TFSA, RIF, RRSP, FHSA, FATCA, CRS)
+ Balance withholding tax remittance accounts at CRA
+ Handle all year end receipt concerns, amendments, cancellations and report to CRA
+ Address CRA problems and rejected reports for various receipt types promptly
+ Reporting to Concentra including the annual Certificate of Compliance
Stay updated on CRA regulatory changes and assess system and policy updates. First contact for all Investment Escalations from branch and/or Member Concerns by investigating and providing approvals or resolutions while adhering to CRA regulations, mitigating Meridian losses and Meridian reputational risk Problem solves complex retail investment errors and escalations Outlining options for remediation to leadership, providing recommendation. Subject Matter Expert (SME) on all year end related activities and investment products and support Investment Representatives in more complex requests Fulfill requests within timelines, verifying documentation and transactions for accuracy. Investigate Member accounts and activities, managing transactions on multiple systems with precision. Resolve Member issues, manage resolutions and support branches with Member Concerns to mitigate risks. Use policies to solve errors or omissions, stay updated and maintain policies, procedures, forms. Comply with regulations, keep up with changes and handle correspondence and information discreetly. Perform additional duties as needed.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities




Subject matter expert in Class A Shares, an asset General understanding of CRA, FATCA, CRS, and other compliance and regulatory rules. Desire to stay abreast of regulatory changes pertaining to tax reporting rules. Member Experience focus, commitment to Service Excellence Task oriented and flexible schedule with ability to manage tight timelines Resolve routine to moderately complex problems or issues using standard operating principles Strong knowledge of computer systems, including virtual technology. Education, Designations, Training, and Experience






Background education in accounting, finance, commerce, business administration, or equivalent would be an asset 3-5 years' work experience in a retail investment operation's environment

Salary Range: CAD

47,775 to 62,200

annually







Compensation for this role is based on a combination of skills, experience, and internal equity. Candidates with stronger alignment to the role's requirements may be placed higher within the range.
