Job Description

The Operations Manager is a senior leadership role at WQS Group of Companies, responsible for overseeing operational performance across regions while supporting business growth, client relationships, and cross-functional collaboration. Reporting to the Vice President, Operations, this role plays a critical part in ensuring operational excellence, consistent service delivery, and long-term organizational success.



This position requires a strong operational background within Field Evaluation, Industrial Rope Access, and/or Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) services, combined with proven leadership, business development, and client-facing experience.



Work Schedule & Location

Schedule: Monday-Friday (hours may vary based on operational and project requirements) Location: Office-based with regular field and client-site presence Travel: Periodic travel to client facilities and WQS regional offices is required

Key Responsibilities



Operational Leadership

Lead and oversee regional operations to ensure consistent service delivery, safety, and performance Implement and maintain operational policies, procedures, and standards Oversee Field Evaluation, Industrial Rope Access, and/or NDT service delivery Support technician dispatch and resource allocation for unassigned work scopes Ensure facilities, equipment, and assets meet regulatory, safety, and company standards

Client & Business Development

Build and maintain strong client relationships to support long-term partnerships Act as a senior point of contact for client concerns and issue resolution Identify and pursue new business opportunities, project expansions, and service offerings Maintain and update the business development pipeline Represent WQS at industry events and client meetings

Financial & Strategic Oversight

Support operational budgeting, forecasting, and cost control Analyze operational and financial data to improve efficiency and profitability Contribute to long-term strategic planning and organizational growth initiatives

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Partner with HR and Payroll to align workforce planning, onboarding, and payroll processes Collaborate with Finance and Accounts Receivable to support reporting and collections Ensure clear communication and coordination across departments

Team & Regional Leadership

Lead, mentor, and develop operational and site leadership teams Set performance expectations and support employee development Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement

What You Will Bring



Experience & Education

10+ years of experience in field operations within a relevant industrial services environment 5+ years of leadership experience within Industrial Rope Access, Inspection, or NDT-related services Working knowledge of Field Evaluation, Industrial Rope Access, and/or NDT services (required) Relevant trade certifications (required) Proven success in business development and client relationship management Strong leadership, coaching, and team-building capabilities Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills Ability to interpret complex operational and financial data to support decision-making Familiarity with Indigenous-owned business practices and community engagement is considered an asset
