Job Summary



Northern Snow / Northern Lawns is seeking a results-driven and hands-on

Operations Manager

to lead the day-to-day execution of our snow removal and lawn care operations. This position is the central link between the field teams and management, ensuring that service delivery, crew coordination, safety, and customer satisfaction are executed at the highest level.

The Operations Manager will oversee 50-60 operators during snow events and multiple lawn crews throughout the warmer months--playing a key leadership role in scheduling, routing, dispatching, and ensuring all work is completed efficiently, safely, and to company standards.

Key ResponsibilitiesOperational Leadership



Oversee the daily operations of all snow removal and lawn care crews, ensuring timely and high-quality service across all customer properties. Serve as the primary point of contact for operators, ensuring clear communication, leadership, and support during active operations. Manage and coordinate scheduling, routing, and dispatch through Aurora Suite and other operational tools. Lead pre- and post-event meetings to ensure readiness, performance feedback, and operational improvement. Supervise 50-60 employees during peak snow events and multiple seasonal crews during lawn operations.

Field Management & Quality Control



Conduct site checks, audits, and field visits to ensure standards are being met. Address and resolve operational challenges or customer concerns in real-time. Monitor service performance and report on operational efficiency and crew productivity. Ensure proper use and maintenance of equipment, and assist in coordination of repairs and service as needed.

Team Development



Support recruitment, onboarding, and ongoing training of new operators and crew leaders. Reinforce company culture, professionalism, and adherence to Northern Snow / Northern Lawns' values and service standards. Coach and mentor team members to improve efficiency, reliability, and safety.

Safety & Compliance



Enforce all safety procedures and maintain compliance with WSIB, company policies, and operational standards. Conduct safety briefings, ensure proper PPE usage, and document incidents or near-misses. Promote a strong safety-first culture during both snow and lawn seasons.

Event Readiness & Availability



Maintain operational readiness during all forecasted snow events, including overnight and weekend shifts. Ensure effective communication and coordination between management, dispatch, and field teams during active events. Assist with equipment staging, fueling, and preparation before and after storms.

Reporting & Administration



Maintain accurate crew logs, attendance, and event documentation. Collaborate with management to optimize routes, equipment utilization, and staffing levels. Support the General Manager with reports on performance metrics, cost control, and efficiency improvements.

Qualifications



Proven experience in

operations management
