Position Summary
The Operations Manager is responsible for the overall management, coordination, and growth of facility operations and multi-sport programming across
Mississauga Soccer Academy (MSA)
and
AZ Sport
.
This role ensures that all
soccer, basketball, and volleyball
programmes are delivered safely, efficiently, and in alignment with the organizations' shared values of

The Operations Manager leads the day-to-day operational delivery of programmes,
facility management, health and safety compliance, tournament organization, city permits, volunteer coordination, digital communications, and partnership/sponsorship growth
-- playing a central role in the professional operation and expansion of both organizations.
Oversee day-to-day operations of all training, competition, and event facilities.
Coordinate facility schedules across all sports and external rental groups.
Ensure high standards of maintenance, safety, and presentation across venues.
Liaise with city officials, landlords, and contractors to address facility needs.
Manage equipment inventories and procurement for soccer, basketball, and volleyball programmes.
Support programme leads and coaches with operational planning and scheduling.
Ensure alignment with MSA and AZ Sport philosophies, standards, and participant experience goals.
Oversee registration systems, communication with families, and on-site logistics.
Coordinate uniforms, schedules, and tournament participation.
3. Health & Safety Compliance
Implement and monitor all health, safety, and risk management protocols.
Conduct regular site inspections and maintain compliance with local bylaws and provincial sport regulations.
Oversee emergency response procedures and ensure staff/volunteers receive training.
Maintain up-to-date documentation for permits, insurance, and compliance requirements.
4. Revenue Growth, Partnerships & Sponsorship
Identify and develop new
revenue streams
, including facility rentals, leagues, events, and camps.
Build and manage partnerships
with local businesses, schools, and community organizations to enhance programme delivery and visibility.
Secure sponsorships
to support tournaments, events, and community initiatives.
Create and deliver sponsorship packages that align with both organizations' brand values.
Collaborate with the marketing and communications team to activate sponsorship deliverables (logos, signage, web presence, etc.).
Monitor financial performance and recommend strategies for sustainable growth.
5. Tournament & Event Management
Lead the planning, organization, and execution of tournaments and special events across all sports.
Oversee scheduling, registration, budgeting, staffing, and sponsorship integration.
Ensure all events reflect the organizations' commitment to quality, inclusivity, and participant experience.
Work closely with coaches and referees to deliver seamless event operations.
6. City Permits & Partnerships
Manage all city permits for fields, gyms, and facilities across seasons.
Maintain positive relationships with City of Mississauga officials and community partners.
Support strategic facility development discussions and long-term partnerships.
7. Volunteer Recruitment & Coordination
Recruit, train, and coordinate volunteers for programmes, tournaments, and community events.
Develop orientation materials and ensure volunteers understand health, safety, and inclusion expectations.
Recognize volunteer contributions and promote ongoing engagement.
8. Digital & Website Management
Maintain and update the MSA and AZ Sport websites with accurate programme information, registration links, and event details.
Ensure online content reflects both organizations' professionalism, inclusivity, and community focus.
Collaborate on marketing initiatives, newsletters, and social media campaigns tied to partnerships and programmes.
Qualifications & Skills
Post-secondary education in Sport Management, Business Administration, Recreation, or related field.
Minimum 3 years of experience in sport operations, facility management, or event coordination.
Strong understanding of community sport systems and city permit processes.
Demonstrated experience in sponsorship acquisition, partnership building, or business development.
Excellent organizational, communication, and multitasking skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and website CMS platforms (WordPress, Squarespace, Wix, etc.).
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends during peak programme periods.
