(GCG) and Toronto Artificial Grass (TAG) are leaders in landscape maintenance, enhancements, and snow removal, proudly serving Mississauga, Brampton, Etobicoke, and the greater Toronto area. TAG specializes in landscape installation and artificial turf installs, while GCG focuses on landscape maintenance and delivering high-quality snow removal services. Operations Manager - The Mission



The Operations Manager is responsible for the seamless execution of artificial turf installs, landscape construction, maintenance, and snow clearing operations, overseeing an annual revenue of roughly $3.25M. This role focuses on scheduling, team leadership, project management, client communication, and continuous operational improvement. Acting as the central figure in operations, the Operations Manager ensures team alignment, project success, and the achievement of company goals.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES



1. Scheduling and Coordination



? Lead the weekly scheduling meeting to ensure alignment across all teams.

? Build, maintain, and update weekly schedules for installation, maintenance, and snow clearing crews, ensuring all changes are reflected daily.

? Finalize and distribute the weekly schedule to all staff weekly.

? Participate in weekly handoff meetings between sales, estimating, and operations to gather critical project details.

2. Project Management



?

Preparation:



? Create and distribute detailed job packages to supervisors/lead hand prior to project commencement.

? Conduct on-site project kick-off meetings with supervisor/lead hand people to ensure clarity and readiness.

?

Execution:



? Ensure crews arrive on-site promptly and complete tasks efficiently and effectively.

? Manage job costing for all projects, tracking revenue weekly, monthly, and quarterly against annual goals.

?

Client Interaction:



? Prepare and send weekly project reports to clients, ensuring clear communication and satisfaction.

?

Managing Project Challenges

: Proactively identify and resolve any challenges or issues that arise during projects. Ensure that all obstacles are addressed promptly and effectively to minimize delays and maintain project quality.

Problem-Solving

: Act as the main point of contact for troubleshooting any issues on-site, coordinating with teams, clients, and subcontractors to find timely solutions.

3. Operational Improvement



? Develop and implement three new Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) each quarter (12 annually) to enhance efficiency and consistency.

? Assist in the creation and delivery of regular field staff training programs to build team capabilities and performance.

4. Team Leadership and Development



? Motivate, mentor, and manage field teams to ensure high productivity and quality standards.

? Conduct regular check-ins to monitor team morale, address challenges, and ensure adherence to company policies.

? Collaborate with HR on hiring initiatives and support retention strategies.

? Work closely with field teams to address and resolve any challenges related to team performance, project execution, or client concerns. Provide guidance and support to ensure smooth operations and successful project delivery.

? Help develop strategies to improve team performance and proactively manage potential project challenges to ensure high-quality outcomes.

? Assist with recruitment efforts by helping to hire and onboard new field staff, ensuring the team is properly staffed and prepared for seasonal demands.

5. Performance and Financial Oversight



? Monitor and report on job costs, gross margins, and weekly revenue for each crew.

? Track revenue performance and align it with annual business goals.

? Source and procure cost-effective materials, subcontractors, and equipment while maintaining quality standards.

? Oversee the management and execution of approximately $3.25M in installed landscape work annually, ensuring all projects are completed within budget and meet profitability targets.

6. Client and Quality Assurance



? Act as the primary point of contact for client concerns, effectively managing expectations.

? Conduct pre-site walkthroughs to ensure readiness and quality control.

? Ensure all work adheres to safety standards, quality benchmarks, and customer satisfaction goals.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)



The following KPIs will be reviewed weekly during 1-on-1 meetings to evaluate performance and ensure the Operations Manager is effectively fulfilling their responsibilities:

Weekly Revenue Target

: Achieve and manage an average of $65K in weekly revenue (Summer & Winter).

Profitability:

Ensure at least 90% of projects are completed within the designated gross profit margin targets.

Budget Compliance

: Complete at least 90% of projects within the estimated hours and job dollar value.

On-Time Schedule Delivery

: Finalize and distribute the weekly schedule to all staff by 4 PM every Friday.

Daily Schedule Updates

: Update and communicate any daily schedule changes by 4 PM daily.

Project Readiness

: Deliver job packages and conduct on-site kick-off meetings for all new projects.

Weekly Reports

: Send weekly project updates to all clients for active projects.

SOP Development

: Complete three new operational Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) every quarter (12 annually).

Training and Development

: Oversee regular field staff training sessions (at least one session quarterly).

Winter Operations and Crew Management

: Ensure snow removal crews are effectively managed and dispatched during weather-dependent events, including the potential for long hours and overnight shifts.

? Projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the company's quality standards.

? Teams are well-trained, motivated, and highly productive.

? Clients receive excellent service with consistent communication and updates.

? Operational processes are continuously refined through new SOPs and training.

? Revenue and job costs are effectively tracked and aligned with annual goals.

Preferred Qualifications & Skills



? 5-7 years of experience managing landscape or construction crews.

? Proven expertise in scheduling, project management, and team leadership.

? Strong proficiency with business software, including MS Office, Google Workspace, and relevant platforms (e.g., LMN).

? Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

? Valid G Driver's License (AR/DZ preferred).

Working Conditions



? Full-time, year-round position combining office work, site visits, and client interactions.

? Standard summer schedule: Monday-Friday, 6:45 AM-5:30 PM, with occasional weekend work when required.

Winter Work Demands:



? The Operations Manager will be required to manage snow removal crews and act as dispatch during winter weather events.

? Hours may be weather-dependent and can involve long shifts, including overnight work, to ensure snow clearing operations are completed efficiently.

Compensation



? Annual salary: $75,000 - $85,000 depending on experience.
