Who We Are Looking For:
Somebody that is passionate about the trails, mountain biking, and outdoor recreation and is interested in supporting our trail communities in the common goal to develop and maintain sustainable trail networks. These are some of the key requirements:
Post-secondary education in a related field (e.g., Business Administration, Non-profit Management) or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
3+ years in administrative and/or project support (non-profit/charity experience is a strong asset).
Strong financial acumen with hands-on experience in non-profit finance, bookkeeping (Quickbooks Online), and budget development, tracking, and reporting.
Intermediate to advanced proficiency with Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets), Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), AI tools (e.g. ChatGPT) and content tools (Meta Business Suite, Canva, Adobe). WordPress familiarity is an asset.
CRM experience or ability to learn quickly.
Excellent written and verbal communication.
Strong time management, attention to detail and organization.
Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work both independently and collaboratively in a remote setting.
Ability to problem-solve, think creatively and strategically, and adapt to changing circumstances.
Willingness to occasionally work evenings/weekends.
Familiarity with mountain biking culture and trail networks in the Fraser Valley (considered an asset).
Hours and Location:
Hours are flexible, but must be available at least two mornings a week for meetings.
20 hours per week (exact number of hours may vary by month)

Work from home, but must be situated locally in the Fraser Valley. Attendance at some events is required.
The successful candidate will need to have their own computer, internet connection and work space.
Position overview:
The Operations Manager is a key, cross-functional role that keeps our organization running smoothly. You will provide administrative, financial, and project support to the team, including the board of directors, ensuring efficient, compliant, and mission-aligned operations.
Primary tasks and responsibilities:
Administration & Operations
Provide comprehensive administrative and project support to board and team members.
Assist with coordination of board meetings and social events and trail days; prepare agendas and materials and manage logistics.
Maintain accurate digital records, files, volunteer lists, spreadsheets, and shared drives.
Prepare and/or edit documents, reports, and presentations as needed.
Support engagement and outreach activities and the annual general meeting (e.g., member social rides, community trail days, volunteer events).
Assist with volunteer management and membership initiatives for existing and prospective members.
Coordinate sponsorship and Adopt-a-Trail program with existing and new external partners.
Provide human resources management, including, but not limited to: overseeing 2 staff personnel, preparing job postings and employee contracts, tracking employee hours.
Develop SOPs, workflows, and templates to support best practices.
Other duties as assigned.
Development & Communications
Research and search out prospective partnerships and business sponsorships and Adopt-a-trail opportunities.
Research and prepare grant applications and reporting in tandem with other team members.
Assist in creating signage and promotion strategies to increase membership and volunteer participation.
Maintain membership system (Member365) and associated data management.
Assist with engagement materials and social media content creation and deployment.
Finance & Compliance
Develop and manage organizational and project budgets, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities.
Track budgets against actual revenues and expenditures, identify variances, and recommend adjustments.
Oversee bookkeeping in QuickBooks Online, including payables, receivables, reconciliations, GST/PST filings, annual return, and preparation of financial statements as required and in collaboration with Treasurer, external bookkeeper and accountant.
Coordinate payroll and contractor payments in collaboration with external bookkeeper.
Prepare timely and accurate financial reports for the Board of Directors, funders, and regulators (e.g., CRA, WorkSafeBC) in collaboration with Treasurer and bookkeeper.
Monitor and maintain compliance with the B.C. Societies Act, CRA regulations, and grant reporting requirements.
Who is the Fraser Valley Mountain Bikers Association (FVMBA)?
The (FVMBA) is a registered non-profit, volunteer-driven organization that advocates for and maintains multiple recreational trail networks within the Fraser Valley. The mission of the organization is to build a culture of inclusive mountain biking communities and sustainable trail networks. FVMBA actively maintains (under agreement) over 300 km of multi-use trails to provide a safe, enjoyable experience for all trail users, including mountain bikers, hikers, trail runners, and others.
