Blacktop Traffic Service Inc is growing and we're seeking a full time Operations Manager in Central Nova Scotia. We're seeking an individual who has great communication skills, is self-motivated, organized, has the ability to multitask and able to manage large workloads and people in a fast-paced environment.

Job Responsibilities listed below

Oversee daily operations and maintain company equipment.

Planning traffic control logistics by developing a daily schedule, dispatching company resources, resolving issues, planning, monitoring and evaluating customer requirements and coordinating services.

Meeting traffic control demands by hiring, orientating and managing traffic control personnel, verifying work in progress, resolving problems, and recording progress.

Achieves customer satisfaction by negotiating service requirements and anticipating and planning service requirements.

Weekly on-site safety hazard assessments, site inspections, spot checks are required.

Completing administrative requirements by organizing and maintaining office records, completing reports, completing time sheets and payroll data.

Able to work long hours when needed.

Contributes to team effort by accomplishing all other tasks as required.

In order to function in this position, candidates must be able to meet the following criteria.

Provide proof of High School Diploma (University degree/post-secondary equivalent preferred).

Managerial experience supervising and directing staff.

Excellent computer skills and proficient in excel, word, and PowerPoint.

Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.

Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative management style.

Excels at operating in a fast-paced environment with a commitment to get the job done.

The area of Operations will cover Halifax, Dartmouth, Eastern Shore and Truro.

Excellent people manager, open to direction and constructive criticism.

Ability to challenge and debate issues of importance.

Ability to look at situations from several points of view.

Delegate responsibilities effectively.

High comfort level working in a diverse environment.

Adept problem-solving skills.

Able to lift heavy loads.

Valid Class 5 License

Clean drivers abstract

2+ Years as a Traffic Control Person

2+ Years as a Temporary Workplace Signer.

Wage & Benefits

Salary of $65,000 - $85,000 Annually
