Operations Manager

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to support our fast-growing food production company as we strengthen and structure our operations for the future.

The ideal candidate brings strong expertise in the Food industry, with a solid knowledge of production flows, allergen management, and cost awareness. This role requires a hands-on leader with a pragmatic approach to problem-solving, capable of driving efficiency and continuous improvement while ensuring food safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:



-Oversee and coordinate all aspects of daily production operations, including control of scheduling, planning, and coordinate equipment maintenance.

-Ensure full compliance with GFSI/SQF, HACCP, and Organic standards; prepare and lead internal and external audits with Regulatory & QA Specialist and Maintenance Managers.

-Manage and optimize production flows, with special focus on allergen control and food safety.

-Track and analyze production costs with his team( yield, labor, waste) to identify opportunities for efficiency.

-Implement and monitor KPIs to improve operational performance and reduce waste.

-Lead, train, and motivate supervisor and production teams, fostering a culture of quality, accountability, and safety.

-Develop and implement processes and operational standards to support company growth and scalability.

-Provide practical solutions to operational challenges

-Collaborate with R&D, QA, Maintenance, Logistics and HR to ensure seamless operations.

Required Skills & Qualifications:



-Minimum 5 years of operations management experience in food production or processing.

-Experience with GFSI/SQF.

-Strong knowledge of production flows and allergen management.

-Familiarity with Canadian regulations (CFIA, food safety, traceability).

-Solid understanding of raw material and production cost drivers and ability to optimize without compromising quality.

-Proven leadership skills with the ability to build, manage, and inspire teams.

-Strong problem-solving abilities, pragmatic and results driven.

Assets:



-Experience in fast-growing or scaling SMEs

-Knowledge of production management systems and ERP software.

-Ability to contribute to the implementation of operational structures and standards for future growth.
