The Town of Faro is a safe and vibrant community nestled amidst the spectacular mountain views of central Yukon. The Town is adjacent to the Pelly River and offers affordable housing, extensive recreation opportunities, along with an enviable Yukon lifestyle.



Reporting directly to the CAO, the Operations Manager is responsible for leading the implementation of capital projects, municipal road/facility/equipment maintenance, oversight of municipal water and wastewater operations and to ensure high quality service delivery to the community. The ideal candidate will have supervisory experience, good communication and strong customer service skills, as well as project management experience and a good understanding of developing and implementing a budget.

What we are looking for is a candidate with:

A degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Project Management, Environmental Sciences/Services or related discipline, is desirable. Certification in the Environmental Operations Certificate Program (EOCP) with a Small Water Operator, Water Treatment and/or Distribution Level 1, Chlorine Handling and Water Treatment certificate. Previous supervisory and management experience (5+ years) The ability to think critically, make sound recommendations, effectively manage change, while working within the legislative and policy framework. Thorough knowledge of applicable legislation/regulatory standards, water and wastewater processes, knowledge of heavy equipment, road operations, and local government functions and responsibilities. Knowledge of Safe Work legislation and implementing safe work practices into the workplace and the ability to work effectively within a union environment.
