We are in the midst of a plant rebuild, seeking an organized, strong-communicator and process-minded individual, with a focus on effective operation management skills. Working with other teams in the facility, the main focus of this role is implementing process, labour force requirements, safe operating procedures, decrease waste and overall leadership of the team.

Responsibilities



Production:



Executes weekly production schedule. Build effective and consistent processes to implement to streamline the overall operational process. Internally audits inefficiencies and develops solutions. Ensures production remains on schedule - troubleshooting deficiencies and documenting production numbers daily, inclusive of raw materials, labour requirements on schedule, call-ins and forecasts. Analyze production trends and provide suggestions (both for present as reactive and future as proactive). Implements and drives efficiency to achieve maximum production speed while maintaining quality. Complete all forms and records as set out by SQF and other requirements as needed. Measures and eliminates waste by developing and implementing effective procedures. Performs routine plant walks to monitor activities of workforce. Supports the planning of strategic projects and makes recommendations to Executives. Provides Supervisors with operational support and career development. Train employees on initiatives to effectively run operations accurately. Ensure food safety remains high priority and is an ambassador for a food-safe culture. Adheres to budget and explain any over expenditure. Other duties as required.

Teamwork and Leadership:



Verifies supervisor submission of labour hours are correct. Responsible for overseeing labour trends, performance management and training records while working alongside human resources when required. Leads by example for all safety standards, compliance measures, respect in the workplace and other facets of corrective action. Work alongside other managers to conduct root analysis for mechanical issues, staffing and labour issues, occupational health and safety, food safety, logistics errors for the collective goal of eliminating downtime. Participates in the ongoing development, communication and implementation of team concepts, programs, and policies. Responsible for ensuring department adheres to all safe operating procedures as well as hiring and training outlines. Establishes and monitors OKRs for department.

Shipping and Receiving:



Oversees all inventory levels and outgoing shipments of finished goods Reviews purchasing orders for raw materials in accordance with the production schedule - and investigates any discrepancies. Audits all appropriate certifications and heavy equipment operations (forklift, pallet jack, working from heights, etc...). Submits weekly inventory reports to Executives

Qualifications:



8+ years previous manufacturing management experience in food processing or highly regulated industry. Previous MRP, ERP experience required. SAP/HANA experience a strong asset. Exceptional Microsoft skills (most notably excel). Exceptional communication skills both oral and verbal. Must think quickly on feet and be easily adaptable to change/growth. Previous experience working with HACCP and GFSI (SQF or BRC). Must be a leader and drive enforcement of policies. Ability to execute projects and implement effectively.
