About the Job
As an Operations Manager you will oversee and supervise all functions of the aggregate sites, such as capital and expense purchases, business regulatory compliance, continuous improvement, ensuring highest quality specified products, process design cost and overall operational efficiency to ensure maximum efficiency and increased profitability while ensuring sites adhere to health and safety, environmental and labour policies, procedures and legislation.
Based out of Essex, Windsor Ontario reporting directly to the General Manger - Aggregates.
What You'll Be Doing
Analyzes data, prepares presentations, creates reports, and attends meetings to provide and communicate information to senior management and board of directors
Ensures emphasis is placed on producing quality products. Identifies, investigates and resolves quality issues promptly and efficiently
Ensures operations are in compliance with high Walker standards and all regulatory requirements to maintain integrity and a positive corporate image. Maintains positive relations with local neighbours and representatives of the community to ensure exchange of information and resolve issues that arise from time to time (Social License)
Manages plant maintenance through supervisors, providing guidance and recommendations with priorities
Create and manage process workflow designs in AggFlow for all sites, providing total plant flow simulation and analysis
Oversees workloads and provides staff supervision to ensure that work is done accurately, efficiently and complies with policies, procedures and regulations as well as best working practices
Oversee the management and adherence to site rehabilitation and ARA site plan accuracy
Manage activities of aggregate-related properties in such areas as forest management and farming
Works in liaison with sales to ensure inventories are adequate to supply sales commitments
Here's What You Need
Greater than ten years of construction and/or quarry industry experience including supervisory skills and background.
Post secondary diploma or degrees in engineering or technical discipline or equivalent level of experience & education. Additional schooling in a related field is an asset.
A valid G Ontario Driver's License in good standing is required for this position.
Strong technical skills and understanding of quarry plant operations.
High mechanical aptitude to support production plant and mobile equipment maintenance.
Superior levels of interpersonal communication skills to promote and foster relationships with existing and potential suppliers, colleagues and industry associates
Advanced numeric skills to analyze and interpret financial information, develop and monitor budgets, recommend improvements and negotiate contract pricing to improve overall costs
Advanced ability to identify business opportunities to develop short- and long-term strategic plans
Advanced ability to plan and oversee a varied and abstract workload for a large division/department and provide constructive performance feedback
Demonstrated computer skills to produce effective reports, documents and presentations
