Job Description

Denbow started in 1981 as an agricultural supplier. We continue to serve our Agricultural community with supply and installation of animal bedding. Through ambition to expand our services, we also serve a wide array of customers with quality products used in landscaping, construction, erosion and sediment control and more. We manufacture our own soil and mulches that we transform from recycled forest residuals.

OPPORTUNITY



You will be exposed to working with various departments to plan and execute many projects. Your main objective will be to plan and assist with delivering on those plans effectively with your team as well as cross-functional teams and to troubleshoot through complex issues as they arise. KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

EXPERIENCE

You have a minimum of 3-5 years of leadership experience in a related role and/or field (Landscaping, Construction) You have a minimum of 1-3 years of Project management and or Production Planning experience 5 - 10 years' experience in the Landscaping or Construction industry

NICE-TO-HAVE's

Class 1 Operator's license Able to operate Heavy Equipment Experience in an EOS Framework and Concepts Horticultural, environmental landscaping, basic residential, commercial and erosion control experience and/or certifications LEAN Manufacturing and/or other Continuous Improvement methodologies

What you will do here:



Serve as a member of the Management team and work together with them:

o Actively participating in strategic business planning including annual financial plans and budgets

o Brainstorm and help to identify areas of efficiency and improvement

o Implement new initiatives to contribute to growth and improved KPI's

o Work with direct reports and other staff members to manage change with effective communication and coaching

Oversee the Manufacturing Division

o Prepare short and long-term Production plans; ensuring ample supplies of inputs are available or on order for said plans. Ensure adequate inventories available for sale.

o Coach and guide the team of 4 on expectations, quality control and deadlines, engaging and encouraging them in the process

o Quality control: Be on top of sample testing of products ensuring the highest quality is maintained within provided specifications. Be ever diligent and work with our Soil expert on staff to achieve this expectation.

Oversee the Environmental Landscaping Division

o Coach and supervise a team of 8 with a goal to encourage and grow your team into a strong unit. Be a thoughtful, engaging, caring leader who shares your knowledge and skills to develop the individuals who depend on your strong leadership

o Engage directly with customers as necessary on critical, complex jobs such as rooftops

o Work closely with Sales to define project scope, deliverables and timelines

o As required, act as Foreman for large scale jobs

o Execute projects and debrief their results with the execution team and with Sales, Dispatch and or the Management team as appropriate (depending on the job size/scope and results)

o Meet weekly with the GM, Sales team and Dispatch to debrief upcoming jobs, potential obstacles, mitigation plans, etc.

o Ensure all Health, Safety and Quality requirements are fully met on all projects

o Oversee work schedules of all personnel; evaluate effectiveness of processes and management of overtime.

o Be a resource to the Sales Manager in recommending and specifying appropriate materials and services for clients

Cross functional communication

o Work closely with the Fleet Manager to ensure that the equipment is fully operational through communication of inefficiencies experienced on the job and repairs needed; receiving status updates from Mechanics and reporting back to Operations team

o With HR, oversee the JHS Committee and coordinate with the safety committee regarding safety processes, protocol, equipment, and ensuring that WorkSafe regulations are being followed and documented as required. Effectively lead and maintain Health & Safety committee requirements.

Other

o Work closely with the Dispatcher to achieve highest level of efficiency and customer satisfaction

o Work closely with the Part time Yard person to help prioritize his daily tasks as appropriate accommodating various areas of the business (Office, Operations, Shop, etc.)

o Collaborate with the Sales and Marketing Managers to develop operational procedures for new products and service offerings

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $85,000.00-$115,000.00 per year
