We have an exciting opportunity at our Barrie Branch for an Operations Manager.
Summary
The Operations Manager shall direct and manage all Warehouse, logistics, administration and building activities in order to achieve specific goals and targets. Serve our customers to the highest standards so that The Rideau Supply can increase brand equity and reputation.
Major Responsibilities:
Ensure that all personnel have the right tools, information and knowledge in order to work effectively, serve our customers and uphold the company objectives.
Identify inefficient practices and make changes accordingly to ensure smooth work flow procedures that are effective and efficient
Work with Warehouse Supervisor to ensure vehicle maintenance and overall safety of vehicles is up to date and meets MTO requirements including loading standards.
Collaborate with Warehouse Supervisor to ensure that product deliveries are on time and in the most cost- effective manner -Inventory Control and accuracy.
Ensure that all branch personnel understand the overall company objectives as well as their individual departmental objectives and that they work together to achieve the stated objectives. Be available to help resolve conflicting objectives. Reinforce continuously respectful communication between all departments.
Be a Leader, carrying out responsibilities and Company Values in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Ensure scheduling for all areas meets business requirements, approve time away from work and weekly hours worked.
Ensure that all warehouse employees work in a safe environment and that every necessary precaution is taken. All personnel must understand safe working practices and know the necessary procedure to take if accidents do occur.

Set an example by following all company procedures and policies.

Effective Inventory management, working with the Director of Procurement to ensure best practices are followed.

Ensure the branch meets or exceeds the service expectations of its customers.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop a working understanding of the company's customers through telephone calls, meetings and industry events.
Building and property maintenance
Oversee and authorize returns
TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE:
Certified JHSC Member
First Aid Certification
To perform the job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of word processing software, spreadsheet software, e-mail software and use of the Internet.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Degree or diploma in a related field
Five to seven years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
College diploma or University Degree
Ability to multi-task and meet tight deadlines
The candidate must be well spoken and have the ability to speak clearly and confidently in all business settings.
The ability to delegate, set expectations and monitor progress of all direct reports.
Motivate, inspire, provide and accept feedback to and from employees.
The prioritization skills necessary to use time effectively and set action plans to achieve business targets.
