About the Program
The North Pole Hoops League Season Operations Internship Program is designed to provide aspiring professionals in the basketball industry with a comprehensive, hands-on learning experience.
Over the course of six months, interns will gain practical knowledge in every facet of league operations -- from live game management to site coordination. This program serves as a key step in identifying and developing emerging talent within the industry.

What You'll Learn & Do
Develop Proficiency in Live Stats Management
Train and gain hands-on experience using the Swish app for live game statistics
Learn data collection, accuracy, and real-time reporting
Acquire Game Management Skills
Learn and practice scorekeeping, timekeeping, and game oversight
Assist in managing game flow and ensuring adherence to league rules
Front Desk Operations
Support front desk and registration duties
Interact with guests, teams, and staff while managing administrative tasks
Site and League Management Shadowing
Shadow experienced staff in event setup, teardown, and site management
Observe scheduling, communication, and logistical coordination
Comprehensive Operational Exposure
Participate in planning and executing league events
Learn internal processes including scheduling, team coordination, and logistics
Program Timeline
Weeks 1-2:
Orientation & Initial Training
Introduction to NPH operations and policies
Training on Swish app and live stats procedures
Overview of game management and front desk responsibilities
Weeks 3-6:
Hands-On Training & Shadowing
Active involvement in live game management
Site management shadowing (event setup, teardown)
Front desk and registration support
Weeks 7-10:
Increased Responsibility & Project Work
Lead components of live game operations
Manage smaller events with minimal supervision
Begin project work focused on operational improvement
Weeks 11-14:
Full Operational Involvement
Take on advanced scheduling, communication, and logistics tasks
Finalize and present operational project
Weeks 15-16:
Evaluation & Future Opportunities
Final performance assessment and feedback
Presentation of project and potential hiring discussions within NPH
