The Operations Engineer provides engineering solutions in support of safe and reliable operations and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities:

Provides project scoping, prioritization, and may provide cost and schedule estimates for Maintenance and MOC projects and act as a key contributor to the identification and mitigation of risk

Identifies and recommends changes or projects to improve asset performance in terms of reliability, safety, environmental performance, efficiency, and net revenue
/li
li
Provides technical support on Basis of Design, project scoping/problem statements, and engineering drawings and work packages on maintenance capital projects
/li
li
Provides onsite technical support, troubleshooting, and optimization support to operating facilities and acts as initial technical point of contact and support for Operations and Maintenance teams, involving internal/external support as required
/li
li
Recommends solutions to technical challenges and to ensure compliance with industry standards, codes, and regulations
/li
li
Consults with other internal (and external) experts, Project Engineers/Managers, Operations and engineering contractors during FEED, detailed process engineering design, and start-up activities on assigned projects
/li
li
Provides training, guidance, and mentorship in the development of the capacity and capability of in-house engineers
/li
li
Demonstrates a personal commitment and proactive approach to Environment, Health & Safety (EH&S) through participation in all applicable EH&S programs and ensures safe operation of the branch, team or unit and compliance with all Company EH&S policies and procedures

Successful candidates will have:

Degree in Chemical, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering and current APEGA or APEGS membership as a practicing member (P.Eng.) in good standing is essential
/li
li
Minimum 10 years of experience in support of the operation of major crude oil terminals and pipelines, oil refining or asphalt topping facilities, NGL/refined product storage and handling facilities, rail and truck load/offload racks and associated measurement facilities
/li
li
In-depth knowledge of relevant codes (ABSA, ASME, CSA, API, NACE, etc.) and other technical regulations and standards
/li
li
Ability to understand environmental impacts in their area and complete activities in a responsible manner to minimize environmental impacts
/li
li
Field office and project management experience will be a strong asset
/li
