About Our Opportunity

The Nova Scotia Apprenticeship Agency, along with other Atlantic Provinces, will be implementing a new Apprentice Management System (AMS). This system will automate a lot of current, manual business processes and thereby change the way that the Agency interacts with its current clients (Employers, Apprentices & Trade Persons).

The Agency\'s vision is to elevate and provide value-added services to its clients through AMS. Therefore, the Agency is keen to support the success of AMS by ensuring that user adoption is high, user support is immediate and there is a mechanism for user feedback on functionality and usability of AMS.

The overall purpose of this position is to provide leadership to four (4) jurisdictions (Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island and Newfoundland) Apprenticeship Authorities, the user community and with the Supplier of the Application.

Primary Accountabilities

You will act as a single point of contact for the four (4) jurisdictional leads of the Apprentice Management System, the user community for the jurisdictions through a tier 2 help desk and be required to develop systems and processes to triage the issues with the Supplier on a regular basis and manage ongoing and required releases / updates to the system.

You will be responsible for the following key responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage a model for feedback/input
  • Manage critical Information related to AMS issues
  • Lead discussions of the four (4) jurisdictions
  • Manage relationships with supplier on addressing ongoing issues and prioritization of identified and triaged issues
  • Act as a key liaison between the four (4) Jurisdictions
  • Lead a forum for the IT Directors of the four (4) jurisdictions
  • Other related duties as assigned
Qualifications and Experience
  • Bachelor\'s degree plus 5 years related experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Significant experience working with partners, vendors, other government departments on the sustainability of IT solutions.

Pay Grade: PR 13

Salary Range: $2,543.38 - $3,091.70 Bi-Weekly
