The mission of the Digital Lab is to improve child health and the delivery of pediatric health care through digital innovation and technology. The incumbent will oversee the development, integration, implementation, and maintenance of complex information systems and digital technology initiatives that span an intersecting portfolio of research, education, clinical care, and health care administration.Reporting to the Manager, Product and Operations, this role serves as a central process manager and integrator across the team, supporting the management of operations, products, and projects; this includes planning, analysis, resource allocation, production process management, implementation, and continuous monitoring for quality assurance. The incumbent understands digital product and media development workflows, and is often a primary liaison between the various stakeholders that support the Digital Lab, Department of Pediatrics, BC Childrens Hospital and our partners.Organizational StatusThe incumbent will serve as Operations Coordinator within the Digital Lab, working in close collaboration with functional leads (i.e. product management, design, research and evaluation, biomedical engineering, operations and project management, etc.)Work PerformedAlign and coordinate production and development processes across the Digital Lab, in collaboration with functional leads and product managementDrive agile and scrum methodologies across the digital lab focusing on delivering the highest customer value and best quality products to improve child health and health services deliverySupporting the leadership team in strategy implementation, prioritization, risk management and resource planning across all functional teams.Assist with increasing leadership insight on production by establishing and monitoring related metrics to track development progress toward the realization of product goalsTriage incoming inquiries by collaborators, clients, and partners to appropriate resolution.Coordinate closely with internal and external stakeholders to proactively identify, track, report, escalate and resolve incoming issuesDocument and track progress against launch milestones, highlighting blockers, risks and create mitigation plans.Own and execute the processes for weekly/monthly reporting (product and operations).Gather new data, link disparate forms of data, and/or creatively use existing data to propose metrics and regularly present them in a compelling way.Create reporting mechanisms and dashboards for quick access to internal metrics.Execute new initiatives & document best practices for existing processes, standardize approaches, and always absorb new ideas to keep improving.Be able to suggest and drive process improvements, metrics to improve the overall team performance and efficiency.Organize and lead/co-lead product and operational meetings (per production processes)Collaborate broadly to achieve key commitments and accountabilities, and act as a liaison between the teams and leadership groups.Support cross-functional initiatives and projects as required by the leadership team.Establish an inclusive, collaborative, creative & agile team culture.Other duties, as assigned, including finance, HR support, marketing, and communication.Consequence of Error/JudgementThis position is vitally important to the daily operation of the Digital Lab. Effective planning and management resources and developing strong positive relationships with stakeholders is critical to the success of the Digital Lab and its ability to impact the lives of children and families in BC. Failure to perform work accurately efficiently and effectively will directly affect the value of the Digital Lab and negatively impact the overall aims of the Department of Pediatrics. Failure to develop and execute operational plans could have a detrimental impact on operations, lead to increased operational costs and could lead to inefficient working conditions. The improper execution of details associated with the management of the Digital Lab could result in a tarnished program and image of UBC and BCCH/PHSA.Supervision ReceivedThis position is co-supervised by the Manager, Product and Operations (regular supervisor), and the Head, Digital Lab. Staff are empowered to execute their responsibilities and work independently.Supervision GivenAt times, the incumbent may be responsible for select junior and/or student staff.Minimum QualificationsUndergraduate degree in a relevant discipline. Minimum of two years of related experience, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.- Willingness to respect diverse perspectives, including perspectives in conflict with ones own

Previous supervisory experience of part time or student employee management is strongly preferred. Demonstrated self-starter. Strong computers skills essential. Strong financial, organizational, and time management skills required. Ability to work well as a member of a team and as a leader of a team in a diverse and collegial environment. Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal and conflict resolution skills required. Ability to exercise sound judgment, multi-task, prioritize and work effectively under pressure to meet deadlines.
