We are seeking qualified individuals for the role of Operations Center Controller.

Please note that this is not a fly-in, fly-out position and will be based in Labrador West, NL. This position will require candidates to work 7-days on/7-days off (days and nights) 12-hour rotation schedule.

Job Responsibilities:

Ensure safe and efficient operation of production facilities in accordance with policies, procedures and regulatory requirements. Serves as the focal point for the execution of all operational activities as planned and directed via the Operations Centre. Responsible for monitoring and controlling one or several of the production units typically through a Distributed Control System (DCS) - operating multiple control loops, encompassing a broad range of industrial equipment and systems. Assign and direct work of employees (production and maintenance personnel), control equipment and processes in the execution of operational plans. Coordinate with supervisors in the execution of tasks and evaluation of employee performance, scheduling of required resources to effectively optimize the work processes. Coordinate with peer OC Controllers responsible for other production units to maximize the safe quality product within the constraints of the process and equipment. Take part in problem solving tactics aiming at continuously improving operational efficiency and achieving high levels of production performance across the entire value chain from mine to port. Establish, Interface, and co-operate within the Excellence Center function (including Integrated Planning, Mine Technical services, Process Engineering and Asset Management) to ongoing optimization and continuous improvement of operational processes. Record and provide feedback of operating irregularities in equipment or processes. Complete shift quality, production and downtime reports, analyze trends to understand causes of production variations. Provide direction to operations personnel to correct process and operational problems.

Skills and Qualifications:

Working knowledge of processing operations including Concentrator operations, safety, maintenance, equipment, and staff utilization. Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Comfortable with a fast-paced environment. Self-starter with an ability to work with limited supervision. Excellent work ethic and attendance record. Able to work 12-hour shifts, 7 on, 7 off (days and nights).
