Scrawlr is a company building a software platform and series of products dedicated to enabling alternative forms of communication layered on existing internet content, together with delivering superior monetization flexibility and content ownership for content generators.

Summary



Scrawlr is seeking a meticulous and proactive Operations Associate to anchor its internal corporate functions. This leadership role is vital in ensuring the company's operational backbone is strong, compliant, and agile--enabling Scrawlr's bold growth and innovation strategies to succeed. As an operations associate, you'll be at the core of cultivating the systems, culture, and discipline that enable scalable success.

The Operations Associate will oversee corporate operations, legal compliance, HR, finance, and partner relations, ensuring Scrawlr's internal machine runs smoothly and efficiently.

Responsibilities



Corporate Operations Leadership*
Ensure rigorous operational oversight throughout the company's launch and growth phases Manage accounting and finance functions: Coordinate with accounting teams to maintain accurate financials and monthly book closures Oversee SR&ED and grant submissions and financial reporting Lead legal and compliance initiatives: Draft and manage board resolutions, liaise with external counsel, and minimize legal risks Maintain strong governance and risk management practices HR & Culture Stewardship*
Oversee HR processes, ensuring frictionless employee relations Develop and maintain internal culture documentation that reflects Scrawlr's values and mission Support talent acquisition efforts in collaboration with executive leadership Government & Partner Relations*
Cultivate and manage relationships with government agencies and grant partners (e.g., IRAP, IAP, SR&ED) Build strong ties with development partners (Mitacs, universities, etc.), ensuring mutual engagement and quick issue resolution Values & Culture*
Champion Scrawlr's values across all teams, ensuring alignment with the platform's unique culture Act as a cultural leader, maintaining employee motivation through a values-based approach

Required Experience and Skills



Over five (5) years of experience in operations management or administration, ideally in a high-growth, startup environment Proven experience in: Corporate governance and legal compliance Accounting and grant administration HR and team management Strong organizational and problem-solving skills Ability to navigate complex operational challenges with minimal oversight

Desirable Experience and Skills



Experience working with government grant programs (IRAP, SR&ED, Mitacs) Familiarity with legal documentation and external counsel processes Strong alignment with Scrawlr's vision and values

Position Type



: Permanent, full-time, and in person : 40 hours per week : Vancouver, BC : Immediate
