Job Description

This position is responsible to complete duties throughout the district assigned by the Assistant Operations Manager and Operations Superintendent in relation to irrigation and various services. These include water return flow collection, line locating, water sampling, safety, administrative duties as well as assist with infrastructure and construction duties. The incumbent should be organized with a proficient understanding of computer and online programs and knowledgeable with irrigation infrastructure. This is a permanent full-time position. We have one position available: \xc2\xb7 Bow Island area reporting to the Bow Island shop. Residency in or near Bow Island is a requirement. (Within 60 km) Education and Experience

  • Grade 12 or equivelent
  • Valid Class 5 Operators License
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Responsibilities and Duties
  • General day to day operations assistance
  • Return flow data collection
  • Proficient in the location of underground facilities (locates).
  • Collection of water and other test samples
  • Update Water Coordinator checksheets and district maps
  • Assist with office operations including administration duties
  • Notetaking and recording during meetings
  • Assist with Safety documentation
  • Assist Operations Superintendent with vehicle and equipment documentation
  • Maintain district safety and other supply inventory
  • Periodic labor and operations duties such as mowing and weed whipping
  • Assist the Assistant Operations Manager and Superintendent with administrative functions including accurate recording of equipment usage, employee\xe2\x80\x99s timesheets, vehicle reports and inventory expenses.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other basis computer skills to complete online forms and safety reports
  • Assist with Aquatic Invasive species program
  • Assisting with First Call and GPS monitoring systems
