Key Responsibilities:



In this role, you will be responsible for the installation, configuration, and preventative maintenance of operating systems, applications, databases and network infrastructure utilized within the Operational Technology environment. You will ensure a secure and stable operating environment, attain maximum utilization of system facilities and ensure architectural integrity of the computer environment.







You will manage the preventative maintenance program to ensure the reliability and performance of Operational Technology systems. This includes verifying application functionality, executing patch management, confirming redundant systems operate as intended, and proactively resolving any identified issues.



Your role includes managing our physical and virtualized environments, backup and recovery systems, secure remote access solutions, and implementing our capital infrastructure upgrades. You will maintain SCADA point data within the Energy Management System (EMS), including additions, modifications, and removals. You will also test and validate the Disaster Recovery Program in collaboration with the Newfoundland and Labrador System Operator (NLSO). This position offers remote work flexibility in accordance with NL Hydro's remote work policy.







What We're Looking For:





Must possess strong organizational and communication skills.



Ability to work in a fast-paced and challenging environment.



Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team environment are essential.







What You'll Need:





Graduation from a recognized university with a degree in Computer Science or an equivalent combination of experience and training considered.



Minimum of seven (7) years' experience with Windows based operating systems, virtualization, database/historian systems, cryptography, network administration, firewall administration, backup/recovery software, application configuration, problem analysis, network protocols and hardware troubleshooting.



Experience with installation, configuration, management, and troubleshooting of Linux operating systems.



Knowledge of the unique security requirements for protection of critical infrastructure.



Experience with the configuration and maintenance of Human Machine Interface (HMI) systems.



Knowledge of application protocols utilized in SCADA systems.



Basic understanding of the function of devices used in the control of a power system.



Basic understanding of Remote Terminal Units (RTU) and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC).
