Working for the Trades Infrastructure & Maintenance
Trades Infrastructure & Maintenance ("TIM" within University Services, Operations & Finance) is responsible for the maintenance of building infrastructure assets across the University's main and other campuses. The University's building portfolio consists of a diverse collection of commercial buildings that are supported by a wide range of mechanical and electrical base building systems of all ages. Our purpose is to support the research, teaching, mission, and vision of the University through excellent maintenance planning, maintenance execution, and stewardship of resources.
Position Summary
The Regulatory Operational Compliance Lead, reporting to the Operational Excellence Manager, is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all operational aspects of regulatory maintenance contracts within Trades Infrastructure & Maintenance (TIM). This role ensures all work aligns with the University's defined scope and complies with local, provincial, and federal codes and standards.
As the primary operational liaison between internal trades and external contractors, the Lead sources, secures, and coordinates regulatory maintenance activities, ensuring contractor performance, regulatory compliance, and optimal contract value. Key focus areas include high-risk and high-profile systems such as elevating devices, fire protection, emergency systems, cross-contamination devices, and pressure vessels.
The role requires strong collaboration with internal stakeholders, including Procurement and Contract Management, Finance, and TIM leaders, with an emphasis on continuous improvement and operational efficiency.
