As an operational planner at Pharmascience, you participate in the implementation of an innovative planning strategy for the laboratory. The position is expected to schedule lab workload, maintain, and communicate testing metrics from the QC group, highlight constraints to functional management and mitigate scheduling conflicts, for raw materials, components, and bulk. The incumbent of this role will work in close cooperation with multiple stakeholders to ensure that the testing and reporting schedule is set against production plan at a short and long term. You also work to represent laboratory capacity, delay in the system. You always wonder about the best ways to plan, and you are not afraid to innovate or implement new initiatives when necessary.

Responsibilities & tasks :
  • Review the scheduling (finite scheduling) for analysis of raw material, bulks, finish goods and the inspection dept. to support the needs of the production plan considering the capacity of these different work centers as well as different supply constraints.
  • Schedule working cells as per standard run times, taking into consideration preparation time, training periods, absenteeism rate and campaigns gain)
  • Align laboratory scheduling campaigns and production campaigns to gain in efficiency
  • Plan and follow up on the reception / release dates of the components required for the analyses of the laboratory considering the upcoming expected load
  • Optimize labor utilization and level the workload among the groups dedicated to the release of materials.
  • Keep systematically the capacity of the laboratory and inspection groups updated and suggest changes when necessary, looking at a short-term and long-term views.
  • Keep a good communication with the different subcontracting partners in order to have the external analyses at the right time:
  • Alignment with external laboratories regarding requirements during time (forecast visibility)
  • Keep the laboratory schedule adherence and escalate issues to the team and/or propose action plans when necessary, making sure we reply to the planning parameters in SAP (GR time) as well as to the customer service level.
  • The Planner is responsible for the plan evolution of laboratory operations (plan) and its related reports. Mesure plan adherence to identify areas of improvement related to the schedule.
  • Work jointly with all stakeholders in the supply chain to prioritize and resolve conflicting priorities and uses the hierarchical escalation process when necessary.
  • Coordinate new materials and specification introduction to the laboratory jointly with planner / buyer and experts, identifying risks and opportunities.
  • Lead and / or participate in meeting.
  • Lead and / or participate in special projects as per need
